Ruled by the Mon Kingdom nearly a millennia ago, Yangon region now borders Bago Region to the north, the Gulf of Martaban to the south and the Ayeyarwady Region to the west. The former capital of Myanmar, and still the largest city in the country, has been a commercial hub and centre of trade for centuries. The population of the region totals over 7.3 million.
Yangon is home to several organisations that support either people living with disabilities or children from disadvantaged backgrounds into employment or education. Our jewellery is made in a social enterprise based in the Yankin district of Yangon that provides training, livelihood, and a home to women living with physical or mental disability.
