Magway Region is the second largest division in Myanmar and has a population of nearly 4 million. Its primary industries include extracting natural gas, cotton weaving, tobacco farming, agriculture and thanaka harvesting. Around 10% of the region’s primary school students reach high school. Bamar is the primary ethnic group making up around 95% of the population.
